GAME Recordings was originally conceived by our Forefather and President of Heavygame.biz West, Bug Ski in 1993 in Grand Rapids, MI. Bug Ski introduced the idea to his first cousin Oakdale Boonce, who was knee deep in another venture at the time and waved it off. Bug Ski started spending a lot time with some of the city's producers staying heavily involved on the music scene. In the year of 1998 Bug Ski reintroduced his idea of GAME Recordings to his cousin Oakdale Boonce and at the time his previous venture had ran its course. He quickly became Ski's GAME recordings partner. Along with Oakdale Boonce, GAME Recordings released the five song CD titled "GAME" featuring Bug Ski, his wife Ree, Oakdale Boonce, Billy Bingo, and Shiek and Reek. It was the first CD to bear the GAME logo. Bug Ski said the word GAME stood for Giving All Man Elevation. In 2000, GAME was renamed Heavy Game. Sales were good for the label during this time, thanks to releases of the GAME and RIM CD. They also distributed Baby Game Records, which is a kids hip hop act consisting of Bug Ski and Oakdale Boonce's children. The group would go on to be the company's top seller to this day. So it's safe to say that without the conceived idea of Bug Ski there would be no Baby Game, Danky Ducksta, Poppy Khan, and the countless releases from a variety of artists.
